Vinegar cleaning tips, from laminate flooring to stainless steel.
One of the question we often get asked is “How do you clean your laminate floors?” which quickly gets preceded with “Do you use natural products?”
We’ve done some research and one thing we’ve found time and time again, is that vinegar is often used, and for more purposes than we thought possible of which laminate floor cleaning is just one.
Mix everything together in a spray bottle, spray your laminate floor lightly and mop up with a soft cloth mop.
Laminate floors can be tricky to take care of, but with proper installation and some general looking after, they do not need a lot of attention. Vinegar tip 2: Clean your carpets.
If you steam clean your carpets, add vinegar in the tank where your cleaning solution usually goes. Use the same ratio as recommended on your device, and fill with water as you would normally do. Although you’ll be able to smell vinegar during the cleaning process, it completely disappears when dry, and leaves the carpets looking amazing.
Vinegar tip 3: Vinegar as fabric softener.
Add ¾ of a cup of vinegar to your final rinse cycle, or in the fabric softener slot. Not only does it make fabric feel soft, and make old towels feel fluffy again, it kills mildew too, which is not only good for clothes, but also for a damp washing machine.
Vinegar tip 4: Clean your dishwasher.
Dishwashers are such handy gadgets, but also need a thorough cleaning from time to time. Pour a cup of vinegar into an empty machine, and let it run through an entire cycle. It removes build up as well as any odours.
Vinegar tip 5: Clean sinks and drains.
Pour one cup of baking soda, followed by one cup of vinegar into the drain. Leave it be for 5 minutes, and then run hot water through it. If you have any build up in your sink, a sponge with some vinegar lifts any gunk you might have built up, or are struggling to get rid of.
Vinegar tip 6: Clean your coffee maker.
For a first rinse, fill the water reservoir with vinegar, and let it run through. Then run two plain water cycles. Done once a month, it is said that this extends the life of your machine and also keeps the coffee from tasting weird.
Vinegar tip 7: Clean your microwave
There is nothing worse than trying to get a microwave clean after a burst mess has settled into grooves and edges over a day or two. Use half a cup of water mixed with half a cup of vinegar, brought to a rolling boil in the microwave. Let it stand for a few minutes, and wipe clean.
Vinegar tip 8: Using vinegar to clean stainless steel
Just soak a sponge or cloth in vinegar and wipe ’em down. Then buff dry with a dry cloth.
